Why We Do What We Do
Why we preach Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and through him only, we have forgiveness of sin. It is through His blood that we have access to the kingdom of God.
Why we preach you MUST be saved!
We believe that Jesus died that all may be saved. It is only when we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead that we shall be saved.
Why we speak in tongues and have interpretation.
We believe that tongues are a manifestation of the Spirit of God. When a person speaks in tongues his spirit prays to God. To have balance and promote understanding in the church, interpretation has also been instituted by God.
Why we believe people get “slain” in the Spirit.
Being “slain” in the Spirit is simply a sign that you have yielded, for that moment, your total self to God. The presence of God came upon Saul (later to be named Paul) so that it knocked him off his horse and he fell to the earth.
Why we clap, sing, run, dance, have musical instruments in our service.
We believe that the praises of God should fill not only every heart but the atmosphere in which we worship. Psalm 150 makes it abundantly clear that God honors different styles of praise and is delighted when we bring our diverse styles of dance, and other forms of worship to glorify Him.
Why we believe in open communion.
We believe that all that are saved and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ have the right to partake of the Lord’s super regardless of age, race or ethnic origin.
Why we pray for the sick, miracles and anoint with oil.
The Bible declares in James 5:14-15that if there are any sick among you that we should anoint with oil and the prayer of faith with will raise them up. We further believe that God still has power to work miracles. He is the same yesterday, today and forever!
What we believe should happen as a result of being in the presence of the Lord.
We do not believe that one should just shout and dance in the sanctuary. Worship should be a lifestyle. It should foster a desire for change and create a hunger for righteousness. We believe that in order for a life to be changed, there has to be a God-encounter. Every person must have an encounter with the Word and the presence of God before any real change can happen in the life of any individual. So as result of the encounter, it should become evident that you have had some contact with God. It should produce a life-changing experience. Your life should begin to line up to the Word of God. We believe that it is a rewarding process. Not for just in the afterlife, but most importantly here and now.
